What is it about alpenglow that is so special? If you don't live in a place where there are lots of mountains - then you've at least seen the colors at sunset or sunrise. In a mountain-y area, just as the sun rises or sets, the mountains are painted with the colors of dusk and dawn - cotton candy pink, creamsicle orange, and lemon yellow ... sometimes even with hints of lavender and toothpaste blue. Needless to say, it's a pretty magical experience.
A sunset or sunrise speaks in a voice that all of us can understand. It doesn't matter who you are or where you are from, a beautiful sunrise or a sunset can and will stop you in your tracks. What if we could all look at the world with awe like that? What if we could look at each other with a similar awe and wonder? Maybe a sunrise and a sunset... and alpenglow... are just there to remind us that we have every single day to choose to see all of the infinite beauty that is always around us.
