Ok, ok... we have a little bit of a thing for Pikas right now. But can you blame us? The first time I saw a Pika I think that I squeaked with an even higher-pitched squeak than the Pika itself. I've been fortunate enough to see many Pikas in alpine environments - and it always feels like such a gift to witness one scurrying around. The next time you see any animal outside, take the time to simply watch it. Animals can teach us so much about how to live - the Pika isn't worried about the future or thinking about the past... it just IS. Animals remind us how to slow down and just BE. May we all be as cute, resilient, and adventurous as the Pika and may we live in the moment and squeak with 1/16th of the exuberance.

About ''Alpine Pika" and the artist, Kelsey TenHarmsel:

Kelsey TenHarmsel grew up in west Michigan and moved to Colorado when she was 20. She has always felt connected to the mountains, drawing them ever since she can remember.

She has always loved line work and drawing with pen and ink, and started drawing digitally in college during a Illustrator course. Now she likes to combine the two mediums in her art.
She took some time off of art for many years and picked it back up a couple of years ago when her dog, Arabella, was diagnosed with sun downers and dementia. She had a lot of rough late nights with her and started drawing pictures of her and our adventures together.
