Product details

  • A dry, clean pair of underwear and a warm dinner. Honestly, what else do you need out there?

This bundle pairs two small pieces of gear that make life on the trail a whole lot comfier: a Kula Cloth for pee breaks, and a Feral Food Cozy for a warm, backcountry dinner!

    What’s inside:

    ‘Tranquil Topo’ Kula Cloth®
Pat dry with the soft, absorbent side... snap it closed... and snap it back to your pack! The fabric dries fast, the antimicrobial finish inhibits odor-causing bacteria on the cloth (so it stays fresher between washes), and reflective thread helps you find it at night with your headlamp. One cloth gets washed and reused for years instead of tossed after a single use. No TP left behind!

Feral Food Cozy – your choice of Sapphire Topo, Ridgeline or Into the Trees
For hungry humans who want the simple pleasure of EATING A DANG WARM MEAL. Slip your dehydrated or freeze-dried meal inside while it rehydrates to help hold in the heat, then use the cozy to comfortably hold your meal while you eat. Lightweight, packable and reusable. It also helps contain food odors and accidental meal leaks... because if your beef stroganoff explodes inside your puffy jacket in bear country... ummmm. No. Just no.

Kula Cloth was created by a former park ranger to reduce litter in wild places and help folks feel more comfortable and connected outside. We’re so honored to be part of your adventures.

  • People LOVE this food cozy because it keeps your food warm while it's rehydrating (nobody likes lukewarm backpacking food!).

Plus, it also helps to avoid disastrous in-jacket spills. When you rehydrate your backpacking food in your jacket, you're much more likely to spill food all over yourself... and I don't know about you, but I don't like having mac n' cheese all over me while I'm sleeping in a tent in bear country.

The food cozy is super easy to simply store with your food items in camp (either in a bear hang or in a bear canister!).

  • Size: 8 x 8 inches

Material: 100% cotton outer fabric and a Washington State-made poly/mylar needle-punched insulating liner to help hold in heat or cold.

    Closure: 4-inch Velcro top closure

    Weight: Approx. 1.2 oz

Care: Machine washable (air drying extends lifespan)

    Proudly made in the USA

Questions, answered

Questions about the best Food Cozy ever created.

  • Excellent question. Because backpacking meals stay warmer while rehydrating… and because spilling dehydrated lasagna all over your jacket in bear country is not a great idea.

  • I'm sorry. That's probably a lost cause.

  • Yes. At approximately 1.2 oz, it is a very light food cozy.

  • The cozy helps contain spills so your backpack doesn’t smell like curry soup for the next six days. Also, it's easy to store away from camp in your bear canister or food hang.

  • Yep! Warm water + regular detergent works great. Hand washing and air drying are the best options.

  • 1/4 cu oat milk powder 1 tbsp brown sugar 1/4 tsp cinnamon 3/4 cu rolled oats 15g dehydrated apples crumbled pecans flaxseed + hempseed pinch of salt Combine in a FREEZER (important!) style ziploc bag. Add to food cozy and CAREFULLY pour in boiling water until oatmeal is covered, not swimming, in water. Stir. Let it sit for awhile. Eat, and feel the goodness seeping into your cells.

  • Because you're out in nature, which is where YOU are the most YOU... which means that you don't have any distractions. Next time you are at home, close your eyes and eat your breakfast -- see if you can tap into that same, amazing feeling. It's always there.

  • Did I mention that you are loved? If not, this is your daily reminder.
