Backpacking Bidet Bathroom Kit — Kula Cloth, Bidet & Trowel

A Kula Cloth® is a reusable pee cloth, intentionally designed for anybody who squats when they pee. It is a 'Leave No Trace' toilet paper option for pee (ONLY!). Drip-drying is NOT dry! When you don't pat dry after peeing, your underwear becomes a 'de-facto' pee cloth, which can be...errrr... problematic. Kula Cloth® gives you a simple way to stay dry and comfortable. Kula Cloth® was designed by a former park ranger who was frustrated with finding discarded 'toilet paper blooms' in beautiful wilderness areas -- but still wanted to feel dry and comfortable while on the trail. Squirt. Rinse. Pat. Done. That's it! After using your trail bidet, simply use a dedicated Kula Cloth to gently pat yourself dry before pulling your underwear back up. No toilet paper, no soggy bottom, no trash to pack out. Important: Keep your post-bidet Kula separate from the Kula you use for pee. Different jobs. Different Kulas. Happy butt.

The antimicrobial finish inhibits odor-causing bacteria on the fabric, and because the cloth dries quickly, it tends to stay far fresher than you'd expect. Use it hard for several days without a wash, though, and it'll eventually ask for a rinse.

As often as feels right for you. On longer trips, some folks give it a quick rinse each day; others go several days between washes. Back home, just toss it in the washing machine and you're set. I'm not here to tell you what to do. Above all things: live your life. BUT, I gotta say, Kula Cloth® makes a pretty sweet post-bidet cloth. After you rinse with your trail bidet, use a dedicated Kula to pat yourself dry. The absorbent, quick-drying fabric helps take care of that whole soggy-bottom situation, while the waterproof backing keeps your hand on the dry side. Then snap it to your pack and carry on with your day. One important thing: Keep your post-bidet Kula separate from the Kula you use for pee. Different Kulas. Different jobs. Same happy adventure. I've now written this specific direction multiple times in the same product bundle -- so, let me say it again: DO NOT USE THE SAME KULA THAT YOU USE FOR PEEING ON YOUR BUTT! Ha!

Nope! People reach for Kula Cloth® while hiking, camping, road tripping, traveling abroad, motorcycling, horseback riding, at festivals, climbing, paddling, and living the van life — basically anywhere bathrooms are scarce or anywhere you might use a bidet! I (Anastasia the founder who is writing this description) keep one in my fanny pack or in my purse, because you never know when you'll find yourself in a bathroom without toilet paper. True story from me (Anastasia): I forgot toilet paper on my very first backpacking trip. It SUCKED. I spent the entire trip worrying about how I was going to handle pooping and peeing. So, if you are just figuring this out, you're not alone. We all started somewhere... even the person who now runs a pee cloth company for a living. Outdoor hygiene feels awkward to almost everyone at first, and it's my hope that Kula Cloth® gives EVERYONE an approachable system that's far easier than wrangling toilet paper in the wild.

Yes. Plenty of people use Kula Cloth® alongside cups, discs, pads, period underwear, or tampons outdoors. The absorbent side of the Kula is black, so it shouldn't show any obvious stains. When you are finished wiping with your Kula, simply snap it closed to prevent the 'used' side from touching your backpack. If you did get menstrual blood on your Kula, that's totally OK! Just wash when you get home or on trail following the instructions on our blog or a bit further up in this FAQ.

Hmmmm. I might be the wrong person to ask this question, because I'm obviously biased. BUT, I will share this: I once forgot my Kula on a backpacking trip, and I was DEVASTATED. Not only because I'm the founder of the company, but because I realized how much a difference it made in my outdoor experience. In my years of being a park ranger and a backpacking instructor, nobody has ever told me that they go outside so that they can worry about hygiene... and yet, hygiene is such a critical, often overlooked aspect of spending time outside. Your body is your MOST IMPORTANT piece of gear. Take care of it, and everything else will fall into place and you will get to have the outdoor adventures and experiences that you want and deserve. Because Kula Cloth products are personal hygiene products, we can only accept returns of items that are completely unopened, unused, unwashed, and still sealed in their original packaging. Return requests must be made within 30 days of delivery and require proof of purchase. Opened, handled, washed, or used hygiene products cannot be returned or exchanged. Normal wear and tear, staining, fading, accidental damage, improper care, and damage caused by use are not considered manufacturing defects and are not covered. If your order arrives defective, damaged, incorrect, or incomplete, please email hello@kulacloth.com within 30 days of delivery before using or washing the product. Include your order number and clear photographs of the issue. Please do not discard the product. Approved unopened returns should be mailed only after receiving return instructions from us. Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the return is due to a confirmed defect or an error by Kula Cloth. Original shipping charges are generally nonrefundable.
