'Keeping Mount Rainier Magical' - WNPF Kula for a Cause

Washington’s National Park Fund is the official philanthropic partner to Mount Rainier, North Cascades, and Olympic National Parks. We raise funds to preserve and protect these parks, providing for scientific research, youth and family experiences, and projects that will keep the parks strong and vital now and forever, for everyone.

About the photographer, Karen Povey:

Karen is a board member for Washington’s National Park Fund. A zoologist, educator, writer, and conservationist, Karen has worked in accredited zoological facilities, including most recently Metro Parks Tacoma’s Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and Northwest Trek Wildlife Park. She enjoys traveling near and far in pursuit of wildlife viewing, hiking, cycling and other outdoor activities, pursuing her writing and photography interests that help her share her spirit of “wonderlust” and nature discovery with others. No matter where she roams, though, she always looks forward to returning to her beloved national parks in Washington and the wonder and delight that welcome her home.

She says: “My life is centered on connecting people with nature, inspired every day by my love of Washington’s amazing landscapes and remarkable wildlife. I’m honored to share my passion and experience to help Washington’s National Park Fund safeguard our state’s most cherished places.”
