The Pika is without a doubt, one of the coolest animals on earth. These resilient little creatures are a part of the rabbit family, and they live in high alpine locations - some Pikas can even live as high as 20,000ft elevation! But as resilient as they are in harsh locations... the Pikas are also very vulnerable to climate change. As our planet grows warmer ... the Pikas have been forced to climb higher and higher. Did you know that a Pika is in danger of dying if it is subjected to temperatures over 78 degrees Fahrenheit?

About the artist, Sara 'Socks' Kruglinski:

Sara is an artist and illustrator who loves to create whimsical and colorful art with watercolor, pen and ink. Her favorite animal is the Pika after discovering them during her first PCT thru hike in 2018. Pikas and other cute animals are often featured in her illustrations. She lives in Northern California with her favorite hiking companion Ace her dog who has hiked thousands of miles with her and spent countless nights in a tent next to her.
