Custom Kula Cloth® | Design Your Own Personalized Pee Cloth

A Kula Cloth® is a reusable pee cloth, intentionally designed for anybody who squats when they pee. It is a 'Leave No Trace' toilet paper option for pee (ONLY!). Drip-drying is NOT dry! When you don't pat dry after peeing, your underwear becomes a 'de-facto' pee cloth, which can be...errrr... problematic. Kula Cloth® gives you a simple way to stay dry and comfortable. Kula Cloth® was designed by a former park ranger who was frustrated with finding discarded 'toilet paper blooms' in beautiful wilderness areas -- but still wanted to feel dry and comfortable while on the trail. Kula is perfect for ALL of life's adventures, and we're pretty sure that once you use one, you'll never go back!

Kula Cloth® fabric is finished with antimicrobial silver ions, which keeps the fabric more fresh between washes... and keeps funk at bay! That being said, being 'odor proof' is an impossible claim to make. Odors are dependent on many things: hydration levels, personal body chemistry and food you've consumed (hello, asparagus!). Most folks notice zero odor when using a Kula Cloth® (unless you hold your nose up to it!). If you DO notice an odor, we recommend washing with WildBatch all-in-one cleasning powder or Bronner's peppermint soap.

As often as feels right for you. On longer trips, some folks give it a quick rinse each day; others go several days between washes. Back home, just toss it in the washing machine and you're set. You absolutely can. But soggy leftover squares, accidental trail litter, and forever restocking get old fast. A reusable system is usually simpler, lighter on waste, and one less thing to think about. For the record, discarded toilet paper can take 1-3 YEARS (!!) to biodegrade. It simply doesn't belong in our natural spaces. If you do pack in any toilet paper, please make sure that you bring along a trash bag to pack it out.

I'm not here to tell you what to do. Above all things: live your life. BUT, I gotta say, Kula Cloth® is pretty sweet because it was intentionally DESIGNED to be a pee cloth. Nope! True story from me (Anastasia): I forgot toilet paper on my very first backpacking trip. It SUCKED. I spent the entire trip worrying about how I was going to handle pooping and peeing. So, if you are just figuring this out, you're not alone. We all started somewhere... even the person who now runs a pee cloth company for a living. Outdoor hygiene feels awkward to almost everyone at first, and it's my hope that Kula Cloth® gives EVERYONE an approachable system that's far easier than wrangling toilet paper in the wild.

Yes. Plenty of people use Kula Cloth® alongside cups, discs, pads, period underwear, or tampons outdoors. The absorbent side of the Kula is black, so it shouldn't show any obvious stains. When you are finished wiping with your Kula, simply snap it closed to prevent the 'used' side from touching your backpack. If you did get menstrual blood on your Kula, that's totally OK! Just wash when you get home or on trail following the instructions on our blog or a bit further up in this FAQ.

Hmmmm. I might be the wrong person to ask this question, because I'm obviously biased. BUT, I will share this: I once forgot my Kula on a backpacking trip, and I was DEVASTATED. Not only because I'm the founder of the company, but because I realized how much a difference it made in my outdoor experience. In my years of being a park ranger and a backpacking instructor, nobody has ever told me that they go outside so that they can worry about hygiene... and yet, hygiene is such a critical, often overlooked aspect of spending time outside. Your body is your MOST IMPORTANT piece of gear. Take care of it, and everything else will fall into place and you will get to have the outdoor adventures and experiences that you want and deserve. You are loved, friends -- don't forget it!

Because Kula Cloth products are personal hygiene products, we can only accept returns of items that are completely unopened, unused, unwashed, and still sealed in their original packaging. Return requests must be made within 30 days of delivery and require proof of purchase. Opened, handled, washed, or used hygiene products cannot be returned or exchanged. Normal wear and tear, staining, fading, accidental damage, improper care, and damage caused by use are not considered manufacturing defects and are not covered. If your order arrives defective, damaged, incorrect, or incomplete, please email hello@kulacloth.com within 30 days of delivery before using or washing the product. Include your order number and clear photographs of the issue. Please do not discard the product. Approved unopened returns should be mailed only after receiving return instructions from us. Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the return is due to a confirmed defect or an error by Kula Cloth. Original shipping charges are generally nonrefundable.
