Durable, antimicrobial, and adventure-ready, it’s a summit-worthy sidekick for wilderness hygiene. Warning: may inspire sudden urges to high-five granite.

About WCC:

The Washington Climbers Coalition (WCC) was founded in 2004 with support from the Access Fund and has been advocating for climbers and wild places ever since. They promote responsible climbing and public access across the state through stewardship, education, and advocacy. Over the years, WCC has partnered with land managers and conservation groups to protect beloved areas like the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, maintain climbing access at Index, Vantage, and Gold Bar, and lead dozens of trail and facility improvement projects.

As a member of the Washington Outdoor Alliance, WCC also plays a key role in statewide recreation advocacy, ensuring climbers’ voices are heard in land management and policy decisions. Through initiatives like the Washington Climbing Conservation Initiative, WCC coordinates hands-on stewardship with partners like the Access Fund, REI, and countless volunteers to keep Washington’s climbing areas sustainable for generations to come.

In November 2023, the Washington Climbers Coalition secured a vital piece of Index—home to classic routes like Toxic Shock, Walking Legend, and Field of Dreams—thanks to a $100,000 Access Fund loan. Proceeds from this Kula go directly toward paying off that loan, ensuring permanent access to some of Washington’s most beloved climbs.

About the artist, Laura Behymer:

A lifelong doodler turned watercolorist, Laura first began sketching on hikes before her husband gifted her a watercolor set. Since then, painting outdoors has become her way to slow down and connect with nature. In September 2024, a long-held dream of hiking Norway’s mountains, glaciers, and fjords came true—an experience that deeply shaped her watercolor practice.

What's a Kula Cloth®?

This is more than just a cloth. This is the product of years of obsessing over a way to create a pee cloth that solves all of the problems of traditional pee cloth options. It is a real piece of gear (not an afterthought scrap or remnant of fabric) created out of a love for the community of people we serve and love for the wilderness experiences we seek.

Kula is perfect for all of life's adventures... you can even use it at home as a zero waste alternative!

The Kula Cloth® has these unique features that make it an extremely intentional piece of gear:

- super absorbent (absorbs 10x its weight in water!) and soft

- advanced silver-infused, antimicrobial fabric

- eco-friendly non-toxic materials (Bamboo Viscose, Cotton, Organic Cotton, Polyester)

- durable and waterproof 'clean' side so your hand doesn't get wet

- easily snaps to backpack using plastic snaps

- 'double snap' allows cloth to hang while folded in half (so it doesn't touch pack and/or get dirty on the trail)

- easy to clean or rinse and quick to dry

- retro-reflective thread detail for locating it at night with your headlamp

- size is approx 6 x 6 inches.

- weight per cloth is .5oz

- proudly made in the USA
