A hush falls over the alpine world: blue shadows, crisp stars, and a ribbon of pink light hugging snow-tipped peaks. 'Winter Solstice' is a tiny fabric love letter to long nights and bright constellations—the kind of mountain evening where your breath sparkles and silence feels like a blanket.

This Kula is made for cold-weather wanderers: tuck it on your hip for pre-dawn trailheads, moonlit ski tours, or those peaceful, crunchy-snow walks when the world is quiet enough to hear your thoughts.

  • In the Northern Hemisphere, the winter solstice usually falls on December 21 or 22, marking the shortest day and longest night of the year.

  • It happens when Earth’s axis tilts the Northern Hemisphere farthest from the Sun (about 23.4° of tilt).

  • Ancient sites like Stonehenge (England) and Newgrange (Ireland) were built to align with solstice light, celebrating the return of the sun.

  • Many cultures honor the solstice with “light in the dark” traditions—think Yule logs, candles, lantern walks, and feasts welcoming longer days ahead.

  • The day after the solstice, daylight begins to lengthen again—a tiny daily reminder that brighter hours are on the way.

Pack your thermos, watch Orion climb the sky, and let Winter Solstice be your tiny ritual of light—one beautiful, useful piece of gear that says, the sun is coming back.
